CYQ Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training & Instruction

The aim of this qualification is to recognise the skills, knowledge and competence required for an individual to work unsupervised as a personal trainer. This includes being able to offer one-to-one training, baseline assessment, nutritional advice and progressive programming which is specific to the individual needs of a client.

Learners are encouraged to be responsible for their own learning and fully participate throughout all aspects of the course. A course timetable will be posted to you once your enrolment has been completed, before the start of the course.

A pre-requisite for all of the above courses is that you hold either a Level 2 Gym or Exercise to Music qualification.

Learners are required to bring pens and paper for all theory sessions, along with appropriate exercise clothing and footwear for practical sessions. It is also suggested that all students have a change of clothing for their own comfort and hygiene.
You can study this course over a length of time that is suitable to you. It can be done as quickly as a few weeks/months, or a year – depending on how much time you have to study and your knowledge to date. You will need to attend 2 taught theory days, one for Anatomy and one for Nutrition (which include your theory assessment), complete some worksheets in your own time, and attend 3 practical gym days. You will need to return for an assessment day and hand your case studies in. There will be some study to do at home, but you will be provided with study materials to work from.
